The project partner Derome hosted at its facilities the IX Steering Committee meeting, celebrated on 26th and 27th of October 2016. The project partners travelled to the A-hus AB Headquarters, located in the city of Kungsbacka (Sweden), to take part in the two-days meeting. The main goal was to make a review of the project, focusing on the status of the monitoring activities in the NEED4B pilots, which were presented by the respective site coordinators:
- Stambruges, Belgium (FD2)
The house is totally finished. The monitoring has been operating since January 2016, measuring electrical consumptions, hot water, temperature and relative humidity, among others. The project partner FD2 has developed a monitoring tool for analysis of real-time consumptions. The results show that appliances represent the biggest share of the house consumption at this moment.
An open doors event was organized by FD2 on 8th and 9th October 2016. 104 persons visited the demo site and learnt about NEED4B project. - Lecce, Italy (DAPPO)
The Caiaffa building started the monitoring in February 2016, measuring both the whole building and two selected areas for indoor comfort measurement. The building is still partially occupied at the moment. Surveys to occupants about indoor comfort perception are planned in December 2016. - Borås and Varberg, Sweden (SP)
The project partner SP showed the monitoring results for both Borås and Varberg houses, split by energy source. The Borås pilot has partial results from 2015 and registers until summer 2016, so an estimation of total energy consumption considering these months has been possible. The monitoring of the Varberg pilot started in November 2015 so registers are available for 10 months. An estimation for one full year has been made, according to which both houses are below the target limit of 60 kWh/m2 year. - Istanbul, Turkey (OZU)
OZU presented the monitoring results of the ScOLa building. The monitoring was launched in June 2014 with the activation of the web-based energy management platform; however, collection of meaningful monitoring data is taking place since January 2015 after some IT problems were solved.
Current energy consumption is below 50 kWh/m2 year at the moment. The district cooling and heating measurements are being done via individual calorimeters placed locally at the SCOLA building (and not via the campus energy distribution center).
During the meetings, the consortium also had the chance to visit the A-hus factory and saw mill., a facility where the two Swedish wooden villas were manufactured under moist safe conditions and with minimum energy costs for the occupants.
