Lecce (Italy) 12/04/2014.
NEED4B celebrated last week its II General Assembly and IV Steering Committee simultaneously in the Cantelmo Office, in Lecce (Italy), being organized by the Italian partners D’APPOLONIA and DIRCO.
Between the 9th and 10th of April, more than 20 researchers from the project partners attended the meetings, which began with a general overview of the state of the project, addressing management, financial, scientific and construction issues.
Specifically, a presentation of the demonstrators’ progresses was made by each of the responsible partners. These presentations revealed the high grade of development of the project, as two of the demonstrators are already finished – the Italian and the Swedish buildings-, and another one will conclude in the following months.
Partners also carried out a review of the works undertaken and the most remarkable results obtained from each of them, which helped to set the planning for the following 6 months.
The meetings ended with a visit to the Italian demo site, where D’APPOLONIA and DIRCO showed to the partners the main areas of the Caiffa building, concentrating on the construction details related to energy efficiency.
The day after D’APPOLONIA and DIRCO organized a workshop on “Energy efficiency in new constructions” which counted upon the support and participation of the Major of Lecce, and the President of Lecce Province, among other Italian experts on the construction sector.
Various technical speeches regarding energy efficiency in buildings were delivered, as well as the NEED4B contents, and the specifications of the Italian demo site in the framework of the project.
The next meeting will mean the V Steering Committee, and will be hosted by the partner SP in October 2014 at the city of Boras (Sweden). The event will allow the project partners to visit the Swedish demo site and get to now its real details.
